CrossFit is for everybody

CrossFit is a training regime which adapts to your goals. Whether it is to lose weight, gain strength, or recover after injury — CrossFit can be the answer.

CrossFit improves performance in ten areas: endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. It helps strengthen your heart, core, and lungs.

Oh, so intense

Workouts typically include a warm-up, a part where you develop certain athletic skills and finally — an intensive workout of the day or WOD. Trainers combine weightlifting, gymnastic, and aerobics to create WODs. Each workout lasts one hour. By the end of workout you will feel both exhausted, accomplished and proud. Here’s a taste of some classic WODs. If you are a beginner, you’ll do the same workouts, but with little or no weights.

We work together

CrossFit is competitive. It is practiced in over 13,000 affiliated gyms, or „boxes“. Every year all CrossFit fans are invited to the CrossFit Opens.

The Opens are for everyone to try and push themselves to new levels. During the Opens and outside of them we promote sportsmanship and camaraderie between our members.

The exhilaration, excitement and adrenaline of managing is part of CrossFit and so addictive.

Training is good and all, but nutrition is just as important. Whether you want to lose weight, bulk up, tone or just stay as you are, we have nutrition guidelines to achieve all of these things. Reach out to our trainers to get advice. For best results, see a certified nutritionist.

To build a figure of her dream trainer Amy pays attention to what she eats. She has limited daily portion to 1500 cals split into 35% fat, 35% carbs, and 30% protein. And is constantly looking for healthy ways to satisfy her sweet tooth.

The most amazing part of being a trainer is to see people’s achievements. It keeps me fit to come to the gym every day.

Vitaly had been doing karate and all sorts of mixed fights for seven years back home in Latvia. Martial art gave him mental strength, taught him to never give up. Sport has been an important part of his life since childhood.

After coming to Malta 4 years ago he participated in four Powerlifting competitions, under The Malta Drug-Free Powerlifting Association and won first place in 82,5 kg category. Since 2015 he takes part in the CrossFit Opens. In 2016 he ranked 5th in Malta Opens. Under his guidance, 8 out of 10 people achieve their goals within four months.

Amy was a very lazy young adult. When she was 25, she made a change and tried a new sport — enter CrossFit. When she first walked into a CrossFit gym three years ago, she got scared — people were lifting weights and saying bad words as they threw themselves into burpees. Back then, an empty barbell felt like a whole truck.

But everyone at the gym was friendly 
and encouraged her to continue. Today Amy happily lifts, jumps and burpees like it’s nothing. And it always reminds of how much she achieved in retrospect. In 2017 she participated in the Opens for the first time and hasn’t stopped leaping at every chance to compete since.

Technique is our key focus

In our daily lives, we don’t pay much attention to how we move. If you pick a bag or a broom off the floor, and your spine is bent or your knees are stressed, most likely nothing bad will happen. But at the gym, technique is the key: you have to mind your spine and joints to stay safe and not injure yourself. This is why our trainers only allow athletes to perform movements with heavier weights once they have mastered proper technique.

We encourage athletes to understand how their body works and what points of performance to watch out for. We also ensure that athletes warm up properly and only take on what they can handle.

A gym may call itself a CrossFit gym only if its trainers are certified by the CrossFit Foundation. Our crew has passed a training course regarding nutrition and technique to deliver proper coaching and a safe environment.

About us

The gym is fully equipped by Again Faster.
We have wallballs, kettlebells, barbells, a rower and an assault bike, boxes, dumbbells, etc.

Fans

Our box is in the basement. It is cool here even in the summer. Six fans serve us better than artificial air from an air conditioner. Feel the breeze while rowing your Tabata sprints.

Rower machine

Helps to build body engine and burn more than 8 calories per minute. It is good for high intensity interval training. It improves both aerobic and anaerobic energy systems.

Assault bike

It’s used for warm-ups or cool-downs and is helpful as a rehabilitation tool. Using air resistance, the Assault AirBike scales automatically to how hard you want to work. The harder you pedal, the greater the resistance. It's just science.

Balls

Heavily loaded medicine balls are thrown at a flat vertical target about two meters above the ground. During this exercise nearly every joint in the body must open and close repeatedly. Wall ball exercise is a great way to hit a lot of muscles at once.

Water

We don’t sell beverages 
at the Box. But if you forget 
a bottle of water, we will share.

Kettlebells

They are used in all kinds of endurance and strength work. They are simple to use and give limitless options for exercising.
